Uncle Eddie to the Rescue!

I imagine few (if any) experiences in life can compare with the opportunity to save the life of another. Without Eddie's bone marrow, we would have had to rely on the worldwide repository where finding a match is not guaranteed and even then, an unrelated match is never as good as a sibling match.

Jo and Eddie spent most of today at MD Anderson doing tests and paperwork. Tomorrow Jo has her favorite procedure - the dreaded bone marrow biopsy - and yes it is with sedation. I'll see Jo tomorrow at the hospital so I'll get more details.

Hello Ms. Thompson, my name is David & I am from Calgary, AB, Canada. I had the privilege of meeting you many years ago at some line dance workshop you taught at the 1999 San Antonio UCWDC Worlds and what a delight it was to meet you. Not only are you a gifted instructor but you are even more a wonderful person who made a novice dancer like me feel proud to lead you during a social dance we shared a few years afterwards in Portland, OR.

Jo, I am not really sure if you even remember me or not it's not important but I wanted you to know that you really are an inspirational woman and that you have truly touched myself & many others in alot of ways.

It very much saddened me to hear/read about your plight that God has handed to you. However, after having overcome a terminal bout of Leukemia myself last summer, I want you to know that it CAN be beaten and that you too can do it!! My doctors & hematologists all told me that everyone reacts differently thru the chemo treatments & bone marrow transplants but the best thing to do is to try and focus on all of your immediate Family & Friends positive energy. So that's what I did and today I am happy to say that my Cancer is in remission and i'm back on the road to recovery.

That is the best advice i can give to you Jo .... focus on everyone's positive energy they are sending you and you too CAN & WILL beat this setback !!! ....

I just wanted to add that I have met very few people that have the incredible +ve energy that Jo exudes so here's the chance for everyone in the dance community to give back to Jo and radiate all the +ve energy right back to her! Trust me she will need all that energy in the days ahead and thru her recovery....

All my prayers and +ve energy are sent to you & your Family Jo. I too wish you a speedy recovery. God bless & take care, you are in each and everyone of our thoughts who you have touched.

regards,
David McGillis
