In November 2004, Jo and I found out that we were going to have a baby! At the same time, Jo was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia - a medical term that means her bone marrow was failing; it was no longer doing its job of producing white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. On June 17th, 2005, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl - Anna Claire Szymanski. Anna's health was perfect and has continued to be perfect! This Blog is dedicated to Jo’s journey along the road to recovery.

Anna's New Routine
Last night, Anna and I galloped into Texas and life changed in a major way. One can only imagine going from being an only child to being one of FOUR!
Your friend did a fabulous job on the haircut, though, of course, you are blessed with such beauty as to allow you to look picture perfect in any hairstyle or headwear, as the case may be. Thank you so very much for taking time to visit with me a few weeks ago. You've been such a positive role model for me, and seeing you again after all these years was more special than I can express. I'm keeping the "Go Jo Go! Courage Passion Grace" wristband you gave me right on my desk here in my office so I can be reminded to pray for you every day, for peace for you and your family as you approach this treatment and for the medical success of all aspects. Tim has a great sense of humor about watching the ball game while you're starting the SCT. You'll no doubt have a few laughs with him around to cheer you up, even during your time in the hospital. Thanks so much to Tim for the blog updates.
