In November 2004, Jo and I found out that we were going to have a baby! At the same time, Jo was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia - a medical term that means her bone marrow was failing; it was no longer doing its job of producing white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. On June 17th, 2005, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl - Anna Claire Szymanski. Anna's health was perfect and has continued to be perfect! This Blog is dedicated to Jo’s journey along the road to recovery.

Now, That's Not Natural
At 5:45pm last night, Jo took some pain medication - 5 days and 6 hours after surgery. At noon today, she called me to let me know she slept through the night, she had forgotten to take her pain killers and she was quitting, cold turkey! I told her that nobody would ever give her a hard time if she wanted to at least use the pain medication through the one-week point tomorrow morning. She says she can tough it out. At first, this speedy recovery thing was really cute, but now she's just showing off.

Hello Jo and Tim,
2nd hip - way to go. The recovery does sound terrific. We can only wish for the best results - the best!!!
Michele and I are well and think of you often.
You have heard it many times but the blog is wonderful and Tim, you are seriously a possessed, demented, delightful realist of a man:>)
Love you deeply,
Michael & Michele
OF course she's showing off - she's a dancer, isn't she? I'm glad things are going so well. You've all been in my thoughts & prayers it seems like FOREVER!! Keep on keepin' on, as they say.

Hi Jo & Tim,
Well, I must say that you two have been through so much these past couple of years. You truly are an amazing couple! It was such a relief to read, that this last hip replacement went so much better. I'm looking forward to the day when Jo is pain free. You are always in my prayers.
God Bless you guys,

Dear Jo & Tim:
Great news about the quick recover. Although with all the love, prayers and support Jo gets from everyone what else could it be. I am really happy for both of you and Anna is just as cute as a button. I can't believe how she is becoming such a beautiful young girl just like her mom.
Take care and keep writing your notes as it helps us keep in touch your all very important to us and we love you dearly.

Oh I forgot to mention, Tim, I know how you feel about switching to the other side of the bed. It isn't easy to get adjusted to that at all.

You go girl! Best news I have heard for a long time.
Before you know it we will have some brilliant choreography from Jo.
Hope to see her in UK in the near future.
Best wishes to the whole family.

Hey, why no mention of the neighbor's dog?

WOW - thank GOD. I thought of Jo the day of her surgery and prayed this time around would be better. Prayers are always answered but it was sure nice to see one answered so quickly. Tim - you do a great job of keeping all of us up to date. Please send Jo lots of love from me - Anne Marie
Hi Jo, Tim and Anna
It's been a long time since I saw Jo and so much has happened.
I hope you are on the way to recovery now.
Tim should write a book about your journey and the illness.
Your inspired me to go to the blood donor clinic today and register to give blood to the vampires that are the National Health Service in the UK.
Well got to go for now. I've lots of studying to do as I am now in my final year to becoming an accountant.
Take care and all the best and all my love.

ps If you don't remember me, I was a friend on Alan Livetts.
