In November 2004, Jo and I found out that we were going to have a baby! At the same time, Jo was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia - a medical term that means her bone marrow was failing; it was no longer doing its job of producing white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. On June 17th, 2005, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl - Anna Claire Szymanski. Anna's health was perfect and has continued to be perfect! This Blog is dedicated to Jo’s journey along the road to recovery.

A New Right Hip
Jo went into the Operating Room at about 9am this morning and she was finished by 11:30am. She is now in her room resting. According to Dr. Kelly, everything was pretty routine. Jo did get "intrathecal morphine" today. That has something to do with the morphine going directly into her spinal cord, which from the look on Jo's face, seems to be quite effective.

Tim,
Thanks for keeping us informed; I know you're 'busy'.
Scott
Jo and Tim,
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I took the time to read all of Tim's entries in the blog last night. I knew you were going through some medical issues but I didn't know just how much. Jo, you are a strong woman and the mother of about the prettiest little girl I have ever seen. I love the pictures of Anna. They say that God never gives us anymore than we can handle, but I think your due for a break! I'd love to send you a picture of my boys if you can let me know where to send it (e-mail or snail). Rest up you've got a lot of catchingup to do.
We love you,
Lisa West (and Sam, Sydney, Mack and Billy)
God is good! You are a trooper Jo. And so are you Tim. Jo's lucky to have a great supporting husband like you! And of course thank God for Emily! Let us know if you need ANYTHING!
love, Debbie, Christie, Connor and Cam
