A Tentative Date for Hip #2

Jo has decided to set a tentative date to have her second hip replaced - March 21st - the first day of SPRING! When we saw Dr. Kelly for Jo's follow-up appointment, Jo was given a perfect score on her report card. She does still need to gain weight, but having a point on the horizon to focus on is good motivation (to eat more ice cream).

Jo has her final appointment with the physical therapist tomorrow who says Jo is the strongest patient they have ever had. Dr. Alvarez thinks it will be 6 months before Jo has her next hip done. Good old Dr. Alvarez, always taking the most conservative approach when Jo's health is on the line.

Anna went to the mall to have her picture taken with Santa and she screamed her head off. Can you blame her? Without the ability to really understand Christmas, the big, fat man in the tight red suit is actually quite scary.

Since I am back into one-blog-per-month mode, I want to pass along our wishes for a Happy Holidays for you all! Have fun, eat a lot, be merry and watch out for fat men in red suits (Anna added that last part).

What a Beautiful Picture!! It warms the coccles of my heart seeing Jo standing upright. Her bones have to be really strong from her lifetime of dance. 2007 has to be Jo's Comeback Year. We really miss you Girlfriend! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with Thoughts, Love and Prayers.

Hip, Hip, Horray!
Hip, Hip, Horray!
Hip, Hip, Horray!
(sorry, didn't mean to overdue the HIP thing)

You know, it's just too hard to pick the best looking person in your family photo! It's wonderful to see all those smiles. You certainly do deserve some smooth, comfortable sailing for a while. And I agree with Judy & Gib, what a heartwarming feeling to see Jo "upright" and looking as radiant as ever!

God Bless each of you. Here's wishing you a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Hip Number 2, here she comes!
Love,
Joanne & Bob Brady

I'll never forget the Friday night in Kitchener about 12 years ago that many of us first met Jo. We were dancing beside her not knowing who she was, and were completely mesmerized by her incredible style and poise. Then she was called up onto the stage, introduced and taught us Jo's Cotton Eyed Joe. We all have been in love with her ever since. Jo is an incredible person with an enormous following of dancers that have all become better as a result of her teaching.
We wish you Jo and your family the very best for a very happy and joyous holiday season..

WOW! As beautiful as ever Jo. Seems nothing can get you down by that smile on your face. Anna is too cute and you too Tim! I was wondering if your ears were ringing loudly this weekend. I met another Jo Thompson Szymanski worshipper, I mean fan and we talked about you and your dances and Pedro, Jamie and the whole England trip I took with you, he was quite jealous and envious of me! His name is Patrick Fleming, I think, from Melbourne Florida area. Just in case you know him!
Just wanted to say Hello and wish you three a wonderful and happy new year.
Always thinking about you!
