In November 2004, Jo and I found out that we were going to have a baby! At the same time, Jo was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia - a medical term that means her bone marrow was failing; it was no longer doing its job of producing white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. On June 17th, 2005, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl - Anna Claire Szymanski. Anna's health was perfect and has continued to be perfect! This Blog is dedicated to Jo’s journey along the road to recovery.

Hi Jo, Tim and Anna, I think we are all in deep shock over in the UK when we read about Jo's illness. We love and miss you loads Jo. We wish you a speedy recovery and please, please take care of yourself. Val
Greetings to the Szymanski family. Baby Anna is just beautiful. Just want to say that I truly understand your predicament. My daughter was diagnosed with the same illness 21 years ago, she was 4 years old at the time. She did receive a bone marrow transplant from her sister - it was completely and spectacularly successful. She is now an extremely healthy and well adjusted adult. It was a very long a arduous recovery. Lots of doctors, lots of hospitals, lots of needles. I have been and was prior to her illness regular blood donor. I continue to do this, it is such a simple thing and helps so many. I too, was very grateful for every transfusion she received. I wish you a speedy recovery and will say prayers daily.
The dance community misses you and we all hope to see you return someday.
My prayers and best wishes are with you all. Give that baby lots of hugs and lots of love!
I am sorry to hear about your illness but delighted to know that you now have a lovely baby daughter. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time as I recall the happy times we shared with you here in Hong Kong and in Malaysia. We look forward to having you with us again soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I am shocked to hear of your illness. I have sort of been out of the dance world for a year or so.
You are the best dancer I've ever come across. I recall dancing you with in Las Vegas several years ago and could not get over the talent you have.
My prayers are with you and know you will be cured of this disease.
